A workshop by Paolo Magaudda and Marco Santoro within the electronic music festival Robot, Bologna, Italy

SOUND VERTIGOS: GLOBAL SCENES AND CULTURES OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC is a workshop that can deepen sociological and anthropological reflections on the contemporary culture of electronic music. Society, culture, but also trips to the abstractions of spirituality and ecstasy: a three hundred and sixty degrees survey edited by Paolo Magaudda, a sociologist at the University of Padua, and Marco Santoro, a sociologist at the Department of Philosophy and Communication, University of Bologna.

The workshop  will also benefit from the contribution of Luca Marconi, a professor at the Conservatory of Pescara and the prestigious presence of the Australian anthropologist Graham St. John.

Paolo Magaudda and Marco Santoro also conceived the Manifesto of the event, titled “Digital Vertigo“.
